Jamie Bedard to Leave Aberdeen?
It's somewhat official (though no one inside will admit it "on the record" yet). What's the news? It looks like Jamie (James) Bedard will be leaving Aberdeen. The emails from former Aberdeen analysts and executives have been filling my inbox this morning. The specifics of his departure are somewhat mysterious. I'd welcome any additional thoughts, comments and insights. But most important, for the sake of the Spend Management market, let's hope that Aberdeen moves quickly through this transition. It's my guess that they have quite a bright future ahead, at least in our corner of the enterprise world.
The ex-POW's rejoice. Never have so many genuinely good people wished such ill will to one individual (at least not in my lifetime). The personal damage experienced by employees under his reign is beyond comprehension to anyone who did not live through it.
Say goodnight Irene.
What took several years to build, Jamie Bedard managed to destroy in several weeks. After pushing out, firing or scaring away the braintrust of the company, Jamie brought in his minions whose only feedback was "thank-you sir, may I please have another."
He managed to alienate most companies he came in contact with and was instrumental in driving the existing client base to the competition. You all know someone like Jamie...he was the school yard bully who picked on the smaller kids because he was a coward at heart. And, true to form, Jamie never showed up at his last Board meeting...he snuck into the office, packed up his stuff, and slinked out the door.
Jamie's claim to fame was Aberdeen where he got the opportunity to run it like a sweat shop and treat everyone like dirt. So unless you have a similar business in some third world country that still allows caning, I suggest you consider anyone else on the planet except Jamie Bedard. He has no business managing human beings.
