Why I'm Not a Poet

I think the world of Michael's blog -- and even the movie he references in the below linked verse -- but bloggers are not poets or song writers. I've listened to and even written my share of bad poetry in the past. But this takes the cake. I wish I could do to Michael's pen what Bluto in Animal House does to a crappy musician's guitar. It would save us all a lot of pain.

Yes. Some are red. And some are blue.
Some are old. And some are new.
Some are sad.
And some are glad.
And some are very, very bad.

Michael Lamoureux's Gravatar Maybe I should remind you of the constraints I had to work within:

http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/oompa.htm

It's not supposed to be good poetry.

If it had been Dr. Seuss, it would have been better.

But how else was I supposed to point out the humor in a TV that big, tune people in to the forthcoming Coupa release, and not give anything away?

Charles Dominick, SPSM's Gravatar That's the beauty of the blog...no rules, no editor barking at ya, no handbook of proper vs. non-proper...

Michael references Spend Matters quite a bit in his blog, so it's good to know that there's at least one way that you guys will remain different!

Keep rhymin', Mr. Lamoureux!

Michael Lamoureux's Gravatar Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet, It's an oompa loompa chant, meant to be chanted to a low baseline, not a poem. ;-)

Tony Poshek's Gravatar I've always found that visuals are better than audio (especially when John Belushi is involved).

Jason Busch's Gravatar Tony,

Thanks for sharing such an all time classic. Yes, I would concur, audio does not do it justice.

SpendFool's Gravatar Michael,
The student has indeed become the master. You are truly foolish.
I lay my bells at your feet.
