AT Kearney: Guinness and Offshoring Don't Mix

AT Kearney just came out with a study which headlines firm findings that the "Labor Cost Advantages of Offshore Locations" declined in 2006. Still, there's savings to be had. According to the study, "India and China continue to dominate the Index. India maintains a wide, albeit slightly shrinking, lead over China, confirming what industry surveys and visiting executives repeatedly find -- for all the concern about overheating, wage inflation and service levels." What is most shocking about the study? Ireland, which has seen an economic resurgence of late do in part to offshoring and other related technology investments in the country, came in dead last. Fiftieth place. I won't raise a pint of Guinness to that (even given this weekend's festivities).

Jason,

Didn't ATK recently sell off their MRO procurement group that had been working with Daimler's suppliers? I had heard that they were being renamed SDE MRO Express. Your readers might be interested in understanding why ATK decided not to be involved in this practice any longer.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Perhaps I should do some digging. Stay tuned.
